Greetings, my fellow port swillers!

Ol’ Robbo has been crunching hard on a work deadline and realized this afternoon that he was far enough ahead of the game that he could actually take (most of) the day off tomorrow for the holiday.

I went out just now to check the mail and discovered that the maples out front all seem to have chosen today, specifically, to dump all of their leaves. The driveway and yard were covered in a thick, thick blanket,

Aaaaaaaand, I see that it’s supposed to start raining tomorrow afternoon, perhaps fairly heavily.

I had thought to possibly sleep in tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: Well, that saucy minx Ma Nature decided to up the ante by bringing in the rains early this morning. When I first threw on some clothes and ran outside, the wet was still just light enough that I could pile up the leaves with the blower. But by the time I was shoveling them on to the tarp and dragging them out into the woods, they (and I) were pretty sodden.

**Shakes fist at Ma**

(Yes, I’m leaf-posting while the Halls of Power tremble. I can’t do anything about the latter, but by dealing with the former, I’m keeping my storm drains from clogging up and flooding the basement. So there is that.)
