Greetings, my fellow port swillers!
Ol’ Robbo ran the Eldest Gel down to Sweet Briar College yesterday for an “accepted applicants weekend” fandango. (Sorry, Mothe, this is why I didn’t have the chance to call you per the usual.)
I’m not sure which was the stranger experience: Seeing teh Eldest taking her first steps into a wider academic universe as a bona fide collegiate newbie, or running into a couple of faculty again who I knew 25 or so years ago when I was a law student at Dubyanell dating Mrs. R in her undergrad days at SBC.
One thing I am sure of: As part of the weekend, we took a campus tour. The smells (of the dorms, the academic buildings, of the grounds) haven’t changed a single bit.
And this, to me, is a Good Thing.

Old Dominion Tory
The younger Tory Vixen transferred to Randy Mac (I am unreconstructed in this regard), and, it appears, she won’t be returning to the Pink Bubble. Alas!
I am sure your daughter will have a wonderful time there. If you and Mrs. Robbo ever have the chance to pop over to Lexington, please let me know. I would very much like–at long last–to prove to at least one of the Patum Peperium crowd that I actually exist.
Cheers!

As it happens, my 25th law reunion was two weeks ago. I had meant to come down, but at the last minute couldn’t get away. I certainly would have given you the heads up.
It seems there is some kind of ballroom dancing club between SBC and VMI. The gel has expressed some interest in joining, so she may very well be coming over to Metro-Lex this fall.
