The local classickal station is flogging as its CD “Pick of the Week”  something called “‘Tis the Season With The Washington Saxophone Quartet.”

(What’s better than one saxophone?  How about four, buckaroos!)

Anyhoo, one of the samples played this morning was a holiday tune called “Forest Green”, which a little research tells me was a tune fadged up by Ralph Vaughn Williams to which one could sing “O Little Town of Bethlehem” if one felt so disposed.

Well, perhaps it was the noise of traffick.  Perhaps it was the fact that I had yet had no coffee.  But the fact of the matter is that the thing came out sounding perilously close to Thomas Moore’s “The Minstrel Boy”, which has been racketing around in ol’ Robbo’s head ever since.  Share and enjoy!
