I usually save my baseball posting for other venues.  However, I happen to be here this evening as the Nats fritter away a winnable game against the Giants, so I’ll make two observations:

First, it is an odd sensation when watching a home game on tee vee to recognize people I know in the crowd.  Of course, the Nats have only been here for a few years, so I am relatively new to these things.  Have any of you with more established teams and traditions experienced this phenomenon?

Second, I cannot stand seeing people occupying the premier seats behind home plate and not paying attention.  If you are privileged enough to bag one of the best views in the house, you have no fargin’ bizness fiddling around with your cellphone, your blackberry, or any other non-diamond-centric device.  If and when I become Emperor, such sacrilege will constitute a flogging offense.

No, no message about it.  Just heard it recently and liked the sound.

Would have been useful in college, but I’m pretty sure the song wasn’t around twenty-five years ago.
