Amazing photo of the nebula around star PSR B1509-58 which seems quite fitting for this week.

I will be back after Easter.

UPDATE: Oh, I did want to mention that yesterday I attended my first Palm Sunday High Mass, complete with Processional round the grounds, very lengthy Latin Passion, and all the fixings.   Quite a bit different from having the kiddies come up to the altar to read the Gospel, as RFEC is wont to do.

Possibly because of this, I had the feeling more than usual this year of unquiet, sort of like animals do before an earthquake sets in.   I got thinking of Lewis’ Deep Magic from the Dawn of Time in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, anticipating the true depth and awfulness of the sacrifice being remembered this week.

I plan to attend Mass on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, plus the candlelight Easter Vigil on Saturday Night.  (I attend Sunday morning services at RFEC with the Family and that is that.)  And to carry on Lewis’ idea, I am thoroughly looking forward to experiencing the Deeper Magic from Before the Dawn of Time, and the triumphal joy resulting from that sacrifice.

Again, this photo fits in very nicely with my thoughts.

Have a Holy Week.

UPDATE DEUX:  Pardon my sloppy shorthand.  Actually, it was a Tenebrae service on Wednesday.  And it was breathtakingly moving.
