Have I mentioned how much I dislike static electricity?
All winter I feel like a human lightning-rod.

Our poor dog sounds like the Emperor when she walks by – crackle crackle. Every time the kiddo touches her, she flattens her ears and whines at the shock.
Why is it that we drown from humidity in the summer here but shock ourselves from dry all winter long? You’d think we could even it out a bit.

Yes, indeed. I especially hate doing laundry this time of year – reaching into the basket of clothes just out of the dryer I may as well be sticking my fingers into the wall outlets.

Did you know you can actually see static? I have an acrylic blanket on the bed – if it is dry enough in the house, I can pull it back in the dark and not only hear the crackle, but see the blanket light up. Cool.

Robbo, you have three children. Why are you doing laundry? My oldest has been trained to be quite competent as long as I remind him to check for stains and not put woolens in the dryer.

Yes, I know. We’re trying to be better about putting them to work, but it’s like trying to employ a whole stable full of Balaam’s Asses.
