In response to my post about Beethoven yesterday, real life pal Bev sent along this classic.
I resist mighty hard the temptation to paraphrase the New Yorker’s review of the Marx Brothers’ A Night At The Opera by saying of this clip, “Doing to Ode to Joy what ought to be done to Ode to Joy.”
Well, I suppose I don’t resist the temptation hard enough.
By the way, for those of you who haven’t seen this before, be sure to watch all the way to the end.

So I clicked play because, well, it’s Beaker, and you must always watch anything with Beaker. But really it just made me realize how desperately I miss the Muppet Show.

I was quite surprised to see this because it is very similar to what your dear niece does to Ode to Joy. Apparently the song made a huge impression on her at Pop’s funeral. Also apparent is her opinion of the song. She enjoyed Beaker’s version immensely – we watched it about 5 times. Nonny was here too and we was howlin. So amusink.
