One of our cats, Bella by name, is passionately fond of turkey. To this end, she has used her feline wiles to manipulate Mrs. R into giving her such treats practically every time Mrs. R sets foot in the kitchen.
Yesterday Mrs. R was considering a package of shaved turkey that had been sitting in the meat drawer for a while. “How long do you think I can keep giving this to Bella?” she asked.
“Well, now,” I replied, adopting my best Bert & I accent, “I figgah when she curls up n’ dies from it, then you’ll know you’ve prob’ly kept it a dite too long. Ayut”
For some reason, what I believe to be a perfectly common sense answer was not received especially well.
